A week-long wedding or two hours at a house warming — it all goes quickly. The faces are what you keep.

Gradient is the weddings and events side of Namastey Melbourne. Quiet in the room, quick on the moments, steady with the light — in a gurdwara at ten in the morning, a lounge room full of family, or a reception hall at midnight.

The Work

One team, every occasion

Ceremony & portraits

The ceremony documented as it happens — no staging, no interruptions. Then a short, well-planned window for portraits: strong light, clean architecture, and the two of you with room to breathe. Pre-wedding shoots can be added, outdoors or in the studio.

Baby showers, homes & blessings

Godh Bharai and baby showers, house warmings, first birthdays and pujas. The kalash, the garlands, the blessings from the elders, a quiet ten minutes for the two of you — covered in a two-hour or half-day block. Maternity portraits can also be booked on their own in the studio.

Family, friends & the room

Grandparents, cousins, the friends who flew in. Formal groups done quickly and properly — then the candid ones, the laughter at the Mehndi and the tears at the Doli, which are the frames families keep.

Questions

Before you enquire

What does Gradient photograph?

Weddings and every event around them — Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet, the ceremony and the reception — plus family celebrations: baby showers and Godh Bharai, birthdays, house warmings and Griha Pravesh, pujas, engagements, anniversaries, cultural performances, and community or corporate functions across Melbourne.

How much does event photography cost?

Two-hour coverage is $390, a half day (four hours) is $550 and a full day (eight hours) is $950, each with an edited online gallery. Weddings are quoted as one price for all of your events.

How much wedding coverage is included?

Standard coverage is up to four hours per event. Most South Asian weddings run as several events, so each one is booked as its own block, and if an event runs over, additional hours are added at an agreed rate.

Do you photograph multi-day Indian, Sikh and Punjabi weddings?

Yes — that's most of what Gradient does. Multi-event packages covering everything from the Haldi to the reception are quoted as one price, with the events, dates, venues and start times all confirmed in writing before the first one.

Can you livestream the wedding for family overseas?

Yes. A dedicated operator runs the livestream separately from the photography so neither one suffers. It's $300 for a single event, or $550 covering both the wedding ceremony and the reception.

Do you photograph religious ceremonies and pujas respectfully?

Yes. Most of what we cover is South Asian family functions, so we know when to step back, where not to stand, and which moments matter — the aarti, the Laavan or Pheras, the first step into a new home, the elders' blessings.

Do you work alone or with a team?

Photography is led by Abhishek. For weddings, Gradient brings a team as the booking needs — a second shooter, videographers and a livestream operator — so every angle is covered without anyone getting in the way.

How do we secure a date?

For weddings, a deposit confirms the booking, with the balance due before the first event, and dates are only held once the deposit is received. Smaller events are confirmed once the details are agreed in writing.

Where are you based, and do you travel?

We're based in Fraser Rise in Melbourne's west and cover temples, gurdwaras, reception centres, halls and homes across Melbourne. For venues further afield, travel is quoted upfront.

How and when do we get our photos?

Through a private online gallery you can download from and share with family. A handful of highlights can be sent early, with the full edited gallery to follow.
