Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Namastey Melbourne Photography collects, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and how you can access or remove it. If anything here is unclear, please ask — contact details are at the bottom.
01Who we are
Namastey Melbourne Photography is a photography business operating in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. ABN 38 115 884 848. In this policy, "we" and "us" refer to Namastey Melbourne Photography, and "you" refers to anyone using this website or engaging our services.
02Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. When you submit an enquiry form on this website, we collect:
- Your name and, for commercial enquiries, your brand or company name
- Your email address and phone number
- Details about the work you're enquiring about — service type, preferred date, approximate budget, range size, intended usage
- Anything you write in the message or brief field
We do not ask for, and have no need for, identity documents, payment card numbers, or government identifiers through this website.
03Photographs of you
Photography necessarily involves images of people. Photographs taken during a session are stored securely and delivered to you through a private online gallery.
Paid sessions. We do not publish images of paying clients on this website, social media, or anywhere else without permission. Where portfolio or promotional use is agreed, that permission is recorded separately in writing — usually a model release — and you can withdraw it for future use at any time by contacting us. Images already printed or published by a third party before withdrawal may not be recoverable.
TFP sessions. Some studio shoots run on a TFP basis — "time for print" — where no money changes hands and the exchange is the work itself. On a TFP shoot, both sides are free to use the resulting photographs: you for your own portfolio and social media, and us for our portfolio, website, social media and advertising, including paid advertising. That usage is the consideration for the session, so unlike paid work it is not withdrawable afterwards. Which basis applies is agreed in writing before any photographs are taken, so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before the shoot. The full TFP terms are published at namasteymelbourne.com.au/tfp.
04How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and answer questions
- To prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, to plan and deliver the shoot
- To issue invoices and keep business records as required by Australian law
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without you asking us to.
05Who else handles your data
Running this website involves a small number of third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Formspree — processes enquiry form submissions and forwards them to our inbox.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and may collect basic technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and performance.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this site; loading them involves a request to Google's servers.
- Online gallery provider — used to deliver finished images to clients privately.
06Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Our host may set essential cookies needed for security and site performance.
07How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. Records connected to paid work — invoices and related correspondence — are kept for seven years, as Australian tax law requires. Photographs are kept in our archive unless you ask us to remove them.
08Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, or delete your details and images from our records. Email or call using the details below and we'll action it — normally within a few days. Where we are legally required to retain something, such as tax records, we'll tell you.
09Security
Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Client images and files are stored on password-protected devices and services. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
10Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
